One of the best Ahar Cenotaphs in Udaipur is that of Maharana Sangram Singh which was erected in the year 1734. It has a grand porch that has 56 pillars and the octagonal dome is held strong by its eight smaller pillars.

It is not as if people do not appreciate and recognize history. Arvind Singh Mewar took this initiative in 1990 to restore the Ahar glory and came up with the Ahar Archaeological Museum. Owing to his efforts, the Ahar glory has been restored and is up for everyone to see and experience.
When to Visit these Ahar Cenotaphs
While any part of the year is good, considering the harsh summers, October to March is the ideal duration to visit Udaipur and know more about these Ahar Cenotaphs. Ahar is a small village near Udaipur and you can always get in touch with the hotel owner to know and visit these Cenotaphs when in the city.
Ahar Cenotaphs are 2 Km from east of Udaipur City Palace and you can hire a cab to reach these Cenotaphs.
There is no entry fee to visit the Ahar Cenotaphs. The only thing that you should do while visiting these is that do remove your shoes as this is a glorified place for the brave Ahar Kings who gave up their lives for the motherland.
